Who is Eligible

Public agencies, nonprofits, public utilities, federally recognized and California State Native American tribes and mutual water companies. Applicants must work with their local regional water agency throughout the application process.

What it Funds

Water reuse and recycling for non-potable reuse, water-use efficiency/conservation, underground water storage including groundwater recharge, watershed protection, stormwater resource management, water desalination, improvement of water quality and more.

When to Apply

Due dates for final applications for the current funding cycle vary regionally. Final applications for the Bay Area IRWM region are due December 2, 2019.

Available Funds

$222 million (Round 1). San Francisco region has $45,500,000 available with grants ranging from $80,000-$1.2 million.

Measure AA: The San Francisco Bay Clean Water, Pollution Prevention and Habitat Restoration Measure – San Fransico Bay Restoration Authority
Who is Eligible

Public agencies, Native American tribal governments, nonprofits, and owners or operators of shoreline parcels in the San Francisco Bay Area, excluding the Delta primary zone.

What it Funds

Projects to restore the San Francisco Bay through pollution reduction, habitat restoration, flood management, and increased shoreline access.

When to Apply

The most recent funding cycle closed in November 2018. Future funding cycles are yet to be announced.

Available Funds

$25 Million each year for twenty years, totaling to $500 Million.
