What it Funds

Funds a variety of planning, assessment, outreach, and collaboration-building activities for local, regional, and tribal climate-resilience planning. CivicSpark fellows can be funded through the ICARP program.

Expansion of broadband infrastructure and enhancement of internet access for unserved and underserved communities in California.

Available Funds

$6 billion. SB 156 was recently signed into law on July 20, 2021. The bill includes: $3.25 billion to build, operate and maintain open access, state-owned middle mile network. $2 billion to set up last-mile broadband connections for Native American Tribes and local governments. $750 million for a loan loss reserve fund to bolster the ability of local governments and nonprofits to secure financing for broadband infrastructure.
