Housing for the Harvest: California State Government
  • Housing services for agricultural workers who need to isolate due to COVID-19.
  • Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. To participate in the program, please contact your county administrator.
Non-Congregate Sheltering (NCS) for California Healthcare Workers Program
  • Hotel rooms to healthcare workers who give critical care to COVID-19 patients.
  • Participating hotels will offer rooms for free or at a discount.
  • On June 15, 2021, this program was discontinued for all facilities except those located in Riverside, Imperial, and San Diego counties.
Homekey: California Department of Housing and Community Development
  • $645 million is available.
  • The application period closed in September 2020.
    Jurisdictions that received a reservation of Homekey funds to purchase property can apply to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Coronavirus Response program by February 1, 2021, for additional funding.
  • As of October 2020 $627 million has been awarded to 45 applicants and 71 projects, totaling 4,646 affordable housing units.
Project Roomkey: Emergency Housing for Immediate Protection
Single Family Home Loans Guarantees: U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • Eligible applicants include: U.S. Citizen, U.S. non-citizen national or Qualified Alien with a household income that
    does not exceed 115% of median household income.
  • Program funds closing costs, reasonable and customary expenses associated with the purchase transaction, connection fees for utilities, tax and insurance escrow, essential household equipment, and site preparation.
  • Funding Available: 100% financing with 90% loan note guarantee to approved lenders.
Rural Home Loans (Direct Program): U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • Program assists applicants to obtain decent, safe, and sanitary housing in eligible rural areas by providing payment assistance to increase an applicant’s repayment ability.
  • The maximum loan amount an applicant may qualify for will depend on the applicant’s repayment ability.
  • Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.

Wastewater

EDA Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs Including CARES Act Funding: US EDA
  • $1.5 billion is available. Minimum award amount is $100,000 and maximum award amount is $30 million.
  • Applications are currently being accepted. There are no submission deadlines under this opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the publication of a new PWEAA NOFO.

COVID-19 Emergency HELP Loan Program: California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA)
  • Funds to cover construction, remodeling, renovations, improvements, equipment, furnishings, and/or day-to-day operational expenses (working capital) of health facilities in California.
  • A total of $5 million is available. Maximum loan awards of $250,000.
  • Applications are accepted on a continuous basis through the end of Governor Newsom’s State of Emergency in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, or until all available funding for the program is exhausted, whichever comes first.
Public Assistance (PA) Reimbursements for Emergency Protective Measures: FEMA
  • Applications are being accepted on a continuous basis.
California Rebuilding Fund: IBank
  • Economic assistance in the form of loans to support California’s small businesses.
  • The maximum available loan amount is $100,000 or up to 100% of the business’ average monthly revenues for three months prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
Small Business Loan Guarantee Program: IBank
  • Funds can be used to cover start-up costs, construction, inventory, working capital, business expansion, agriculture, and lines of credit.
  • Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
Small Business Emergency Microloan Program: Economic Workforce Development Department
  • Financing to strengthen small business enterprises in Los Angeles, that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • $11 million is available. Maximum loan award of $20,000, and a minimum of $5,000.
  • Applications are available upon request.
Small Business Loan Program: Economic Workforce Development Department
  • Funds to cover reasonable and eligible business operation costs, including, but not limited to, inventory, equipment, working capital, and leaseholder improvements.
  • Maximum loan award of $500,000, and a minimum of $50,000.
  • Applications are available upon request.
LA Regional COVID-19 Recovery Fund Technical Assistance Funding: County of Los Angeles
  • Free coaching and one-on-one technical assistance (TA) to all applicants seeking support before, during, and after grant and loan submission.
  • Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
